Privacy notice

This notice explains what Zila collects on zila.co.za, why, and the choices you have. We process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). It covers this website only. Booking sites run on Zila have their own privacy notice, published by the business that runs them.

What we collect

When you ask us to build your booking site: your business name, your name, WhatsApp number and email address, what your business does, how big your team is, how you take bookings today, your city (if you choose one), anything you write in the notes box, and the date you agreed to be contacted.

When you visit the site:

• the pages you view and the website or link that brought you here, including campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source);
• your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and time zone;
• your approximate location (country, region and city) and network provider, which our hosting provider works out from your connection;
• a random identifier stored in a cookie (zl_vid) so we can tell repeat visits apart;
• a one-way, salted hash of your IP address, used to stop abuse. We never store the IP address itself.

Why we collect it

• To build your demo booking site and talk to you about it, by WhatsApp or email. We'll only contact you about Zila.
• To understand which channels and campaigns bring people to the site, so we spend our marketing effort well.
• To keep the form free of spam and abuse.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your information. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which stores the data on our behalf on servers in Western Europe, where data protection law is comparable to POPIA. We use WhatsApp and email providers to contact you.

How long we keep it

Visit records are deleted automatically after 12 months. Your request details are kept while we're talking to you about your site. If you don't become a customer, we delete them within 12 months, or sooner if you ask.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to be contacted, at any time. Email hello@zila.co.za. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator.

Cookies

We use one first-party cookie, zl_vid. It holds a random identifier and expires after a year. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
